On the 13th of September 2018, The All Superstars Preschool North Fort Myers Voluntary PreKindergarten program hosted a very special guest from Pediatric Dentistry of Florida. Jeffrey Schafer and his friend Dudley the Dinosaur came to talk to our VPK students about the importance of dental hygiene and healthy eating.
Our group of 22 VPK students (between two classes) sat quietly in their classroom located at 1313 Laurel Dr, North Fort Myers, FL 33917 and listened to Mr. Jeff educate them on the importance of proper brushing, flossing and healthy eating.
Mr. Jeff explained to the VPK children that the proper length of brushing should last the entire time of singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” twice and that it is a great idea to have parents assist in a regular brushing routine.
Mr. Jeff and his friend Dudley the Dinosaur also discussed the benefits of young children gargling and flossing routinely, and Dudley showed the VPK students how he spits after gargling, splashing them with a bit of water for fun! This had the children giggling with delight!
Pediatric Dentistry of Florida and All Superstars Preschool frequently work together to promote healthy habits in children and families. The VPK students play fun games that assist in teaching them how to shop for healthy foods; leaving the bad, sugary options on the shelves.
